Farming methods in Rural England in 1930s

In the 1930s this traditional farm comprised a farmhouse and yard with an array of buildings including a granary, barn, stable, and various sheds and stores. The farm, named for the Wiltshire village in which it is located, ceased to operate and after a short period of alternative use was sold in the late 1950s when the house was remodelled, the stable converted to a garage and all else was razed to the ground with the yard becoming lawn terraces.

Surveys of the farm, its buildings and environment were carried out by Pendon when the farm was in its original working form in the 1950s. Roye England, together with three other modellers, produced the farmhouse and the outbuildings. The farmyard and its surroundings- with vegetation, pond, people, equipment, tools, animals, hut, well-pump and various other objects including junk and clutter were modelled and installed by a team of Pendon modellers.
