Bishopstone is one of a string of villages situated along a spring line. The four cottages and watercress beds were situated here. All the cottages remain.
18th century Spring Cottage was originally two dwellings. On one side of Spring Cottage is Finch Hill Cottage, an early 19th century ‘L’ shaped building. On the other side are two 18th century adjoining cottages – Olde Cotte, which is next to the cress beds, and Mace’s.
