Canney Row was located in Chisledon about four miles south east of Swindon. The cottages originated from the 17th or early 18th century.
In 1962 Roye England learned that Canney Row was to be demolished to make way for new development. He visited and photographed this row of six cottages and subsequently surveyed them while demolition was in progress.
The model was constructed by Chris Pilton in 1981-82.
