Advice for those with Disabilities

Pendon is a 60-90 minute viewing experience and most of our exhibits are at a height of about 1.4 metres (4ft 6in) above floor level. The view from a wheel chair is restricted.  The Museum is on two floors. Handrails are provided on the stairs and we have a stairlift to the upper floor for those unable to manage the stairs. Wheelchairs must be carried up these stairs by accompanying visitors; we are unable to assist this activity. We restrict the number of wheelchairs allowed on the upper floor at one time for emergency evacuation reasons. Do also note that not all of the upper floor displays are is fully accessible by wheelchair. If you feel that these restrictions may be an issue, please ask at the entrance desk and discuss before entering the Museum and paying for tickets.

Those attending events must inform us about any disabilities prior to participation so that we can ensure that we meet health and safety requirements. We do all we can to accommodate everyone, but reserve the right to decline entry to an event if we have not been made aware of a disability in advance. Many of our events take place on the upper floor of the museum.

Toilet facilities are on the ground floor.
