Spring 2018 Events

Saturday, 7 April: The Vale in 3D: photographs and talk

This is an opportunity to join a private viewing of 3D photographs of the Vale. During the evening the photographer, Paul Ellis, will talk about the photographs and how they were taken and processed. Some of these images were printed in a recent issue of BRM – who declared one of them to possibly be the ‘best ever’ photo of a model. We expect that some brand new photographs will be on display here for the first time.
The evening includes canapes and soft drinks which will be available from 18:00 at the museum.
This event is at no cost, but admission is by ticket only. Any donations towards costs will be most welcome.

Saturday 12 May: Film Night – Rural Life

We are showing a recently released film about rural life in England in 1920s and 30s. The film takes audiences down the country lanes of the past, meandering through the dwindling customs of another era. You can relive the work of the local blacksmith preparing shoes for the horses that will plough the fields, and the shepherd’s trials as he protects his flock from an encroaching storm. And be swept up in the homemade entertainment and giggles of children at the country fair and the joyful freedoms of the dance in the village hall.
The evening includes canapes and soft drinks which will be available from 18:30 at the museum.
This event is at no cost, but admission is by ticket only. Any donations towards costs will be most welcome.
