About Pendon Museum
Pendon Museum preserves the idyllic rural scene and transport of the 1920s and 30s in a miniature form for future generations to enjoy.
There is much to see, from the pioneering Madder Valley Railway, through Pendon’s first complete model – Dartmoor Scene – to the breathtaking Vale Scene that is fulfilling the original dream.
To the right is a 1971 interview in which the founder, Roye England, explains his reasons for creating Pendon and his vision for its development. It is accompanied by a selection of images that show how his dream has become reality.
The Museum is a Charitable Trust run almost entirely by volunteers and supported by its Friends and by visitors.
